Note on Proprietary Information and Confidentiality
Objective:

To streamline and enhance the management of all financial transactions and key dates related to land acquisitions within the company's main property development management application. This project aimed to transform manual, cumbersome tracking processes into a seamless, efficient digital system, improving operational efficiency and accuracy.

Challenge:

The existing method for tracking land purchase payments was predominantly manual, leading to time-consuming processes for generating reports and tracking payments. This method was not only prone to errors but also inefficient, which significantly undermined the overall operational effectiveness and responsiveness of the business units involved.

Solutions:

Developed a comprehensive tracking feature within the application that manages direct, escrow, refundable, and non-refundable payments. This feature was complemented by a customer notification system that alerts users about critical financial deadlines. The solution provided capabilities for automatic report generation and ensured that relevant business units had direct access to timely and accurate financial data. Most notably, the new system significantly reduced the time users spent on managing transactions, cutting down processes from hours to minutes. This digital upgrade reduced errors and increased the speed of transaction processing.

Learnings:

This project reinforced the importance of user-centric design and demonstrated the substantial benefits that digital solutions can offer in solving complex operational challenges. It reaffirmed our commitment to continuous improvement and highlighted the need for digital tools that can adapt to the evolving demands of the real estate industry.

High Level Design Process:

The design began with initial research, consisting of user interviews to capture the specific needs and pain points related to land acquisition tracking. These insights informed the design strategy leading to wireframes and prototyping phase, where multiple iterations were developed and tested with stakeholders and ed users to ensure alignment with business requirements. Continuous follow-up calls with the business units ensured that the solution was on the right track. This iterative approach ensured that the final design was both functional and user-friendly, meeting the needs of all stakeholders involved.
